Rokita Investigating Illegals In Logansport

Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita is initiating an investigation into potential labor trafficking networks in three Indiana cities: Logansport, Evansville, and Seymour. As part of this investigation, Rokita will be sending civil investigative demands (CIDs) to local officials, employers, and non-profit organizations in these communities. In Logansport, specific entities such as the Cass County Health Department and the Logansport Community School Corporation will receive these demands.

The investigation arises from significant concerns regarding the presence of illegal aliens in these towns. Rokita expressed his suspicions that businesses, in collaboration with non-profit organizations, may be incentivizing and attracting illegal aliens to fill low-paying jobs or engage in labor trafficking. He stated, “What we suspect is that businesses in conjunction with non-profit entities are incentivizing and acting like magnets to these illegal aliens as they come over the border.”

Rokita emphasized that the inquiries made during this investigation, along with any subsequent initiatives, will help determine the validity of these suspicions. Additionally, he mentioned his intention to work with former President Trump to enhance border security, which he indicated would involve repatriating illegal aliens to their home countries.
