“Considering the conspiracy theories of voter fraud from the 2020 elections, our senior students should have been taught the importance of free and fair elections. Unfortunately they were denied the right to vote for their incoming class officers.”
Suzanne Terry had some hard words for the Rossville School Board on Tuesday evening as she told them how the incoming senior class was denied the ability to vote for their incoming leaders. Three members of the class of 2025 had put their names in to run, and then others were asked by the class sponsor to also consider a position. This resulted in more than one person running for each position. In the end, instead of the election that other classes were granted, the class of 2025 had their officers selected by the class sponsor, which were the officers the sponsor asked to run.
“Voting is one of the greatest freedoms we have as American citizens, voice our opinions, and vote for the candidate of choice. Not for someone else to make that choice for us.”
